IMPORTANT TEMPORARY CLOSING NEWS: WE WILL OFFER EMERGENCY SERVICES ONLY
There is no escaping the news these days so I’m sure people can guess what this post is about.
Being immunosuppressed following my Kidney Transplant 8 years ago I have made the difficult decision to close the Practice to the general public from today Monday 23rd March.
Although we have had no specific advice, I do not think that we would be protecting our patients in the best way we could by staying open. It is so important that we all try and limit our social contacts at this time.
Our NHS emergency staff are doing an amazing and difficult job. We should support them in the best way we can by reducing the risk of infection, and thereby reducing the number of hospital admissions. The best way I can do that is to close the Practice.
Please rest assured that we are still here to support all our patients through this difficult time. Our phone lines will still get answered, and I will still be available for advice.
We will still be seeing emergency appointments, to try to keep people away from hospital, so please do contact us if you are at all concerned about your eyesight by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 02088670406. You can also message us via Facebook.
We will deliver any glasses that have already been ordered from us.
We will do our best to order glasses, contact lenses and repair glasses remotely
I will try and post regular updates and we will be ready to open again as soon as the situation changes.
But… just to stress… this is a temporary, difficult situation. We will all get over it. It was a lovely sunny morning here in West London and strange not hearing aeroplanes in the sky. Spring is definitely in the air, the skylarks were singing in the fields and the first bluebells were coming through. The world keeps turning.
