OUR ADVANCED DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT

Thomson Test Chart:
Rather than a box on the wall, this is an advanced digital computerised examining chart where we are able to utilise many different visual images to ensure you are getting the very best from your vision. We can adapt the chart as required including images for children.

Potek Autorefractor/Keratometer:
A non-invasive pre-check of your prescription where you focus on an image which provides us with a dioptic measurement of your prescription giving us an initial estimate of your prescription.
Henson 9000 Visual Field Analyser:
Non-invasive where you focus on a number of lights in your periphery vision which allows us to ensure your outer vision is working correctly and helps to detect conditions like glaucoma and stroke.

CV 5000 Pro Auto-Phoropter:
When you visit you don’t need to wear a heavy frame when having your eyes tested. The CV 5000 sits in front of your eyes and contains lenses to check your vision with comfort and ease when checking your vision.
Revo80 OCT:
Utilising 3D imaging, this examines your retina in much more depth as well as your optic disc and cornea thickness. Also measures the length of your eye to help in checking progression in myopia management. This is important in the examination of macular problems like macular degeneration. It also helps us to detect glaucoma and to refine your eye pressure reading when we measure your cornea thickness. Also looks at the optic nerve to ensure your nerve fibers are functioning which can affect your vision.

Medmont Topographer:
Measures the shape of your eye and helps to assess for ‘Night Lens’ fittings, ‘Day Lens’ fittings, and to assess the development of conditions such as Keratoconus.
Topcon NW400 Digital Retinal Camera:
Using an in-built digital camera, a flash of light takes a central image of your retina which is at the back of your eye which is then displayed on a computer screen to enable us to compare the health of your eyes and discuss with you any changes every time you visit. We get a full view of the back of your eye rather than a traditional letter-box style image.

Keeler Symphony Digital Slit Lamp:
Used to examine your eyes in greater detail using a high-intensity light source that can be focused to shine a thin sheet of light into your eye. It also allows us to view the image of your outer eye to check the current health of your eye so we can see any changes every time you visit us.
Dispensing Visioffice 2:
As lens options become more digitally advanced, we need to take additional measurements and this advanced digital measuring tool enables us to ensure complete accuracy of the fitting of your spectacles and lens placement. It also allows for personalisation of the latest digitised optical lenses which take into account your head and eye movements.
